Eurocentric Approach in Turkish Studies: The Case of Yunus Emre

Abstract

The article examines how Eurocenttic approach has been affective on the works on Yunus Emre. The hegemonic and enthnocentric worldview daminating the social studies has been analyzed in three works written on Yunus Emre. The article demonstrates that a Western view has been accepted as the sole criteria of truth and the products of non westem cultures are labeled as unnatural, corrupted or primitive when they differ from Western norms.
