The Sources Of Social Sciences Researchers: Almanacs, Annuals and Year-Books

Abstract

Annuals(salnames) are of the important Social Studies sources on the History and Literature of the Ottoman Period for the researchers. In Western countries, annual has no complete equivalent, but instead of those many of them have been published. From Turkish Republic onwards annuals (salnames) haven't been published because almanacs have taken their place. But these works(salnames) published before have
taken place among the application sources of Social Studies researchers in every period. This article have not only examined features of annuals but also brought out the dates and convertion process to almanacs.
