To understand the renewed Protestant Greek mission through the place called Smyrna Rest was aimed. The reactions of the Orthodox Church and the Ottoman administration against this new method were questioned. Ottoman and British archive documents, traveler and missionary narratives, the Greek Evangelical Society reports were evaluated.
