The Schema Therapy Mode Model has been designed to study the tangled schema
activations and different sides of the patients. With theoretical and practical advancements,
the number and scope of the modes have been increasing. The repetitive negative thinking
(rumination and worry) suggested to be a part of the Mode Model is mental behavior
related to different psychological disorders (anxiety, mood, and personality disorders).
Rumination is defined as cogitations based on the past, and worry is misgivings based
on the future. In this narrative review method, we examined the place of rumination and
worry in mode literature, and the found studies are presented within a frame. Integrating
worry and rumination into the Mode Model will be functional in clinical and theoretical
contexts. Nonetheless, during the integration procedure, one should recognize the theories
on rumination and worry, e.g., Avoidance, Avoidance from Contrast, Control, Response
Styles, etc. Within this scope, researchers will add a broad range of mental behavior
spectrums to Coping Modes. Quantitative or qualitative research, such as case studies,
effectiveness trials, and process analyses, should be conducted to examine deeply.
