This study deals with the role of fiqh affiliation in qiraat differences. Some studies
have been conducted previously on the relationship between qiraat and fiqh. However, the
effect of fiqh affiliation on qiraat preference has been ignored in these studies. The study,
written based on text analysis and comparison methods, creates a different perspective
on the subject and tries to contribute to filling the gap indicated. In this context, the fiqh
preference regarding whether ghusl is a condition for sexual intercourse with a woman
whose menstruation has stopped and the effect of fiqh preference regarding the ruling on
washing or wiping the feet during ablution on qiraat preference are discussed. First, the
opinions of commentators on these issues are included and the issue is evaluated within
the framework of this literature. Finally, it is determined that in the event of a qiraat
preference, the factor that provides this preference is fiqh affiliation and preference.
