The Uyvar Campaign holds a significant place within the political and military
challenges that confronted the Ottoman State in the second half of the 17th century.
Beyond its organizational, political, diplomatic, and siege-related dimensions, the
ammunition and weaponry employed during the campaign offer valuable insights that
can both resolve existing questions in military history and generate new ones. This study
investigates the variety, distribution, historical significance, and structural implications
of the arms and munitions used by the Ottoman army in the 1663 Uyvar Campaign. Its
principal source is the 15877 Cebehâne Register from the Maliyeden Müdevver, which
provides a detailed account of the ammunition and weaponry supplied to the army and
their distribution among units during the siege. The data contained in this register were
analyzed in depth to shed light on the campaign’s military logistics and broader historical
context.
