This article is Tomas S. Eliot’s an introduction that related English translation of The Art of Poetry by Paul Valery. In article, Valery’s poetic thoughts are evaluated. It is focused on the sources and evolution of poetics and determined interest between the poet’s poem with the idea of poetry. Eliot criticizes the contribution of Valery’s poetic thought and puzzle overs the idea up to pure poetry. While discussing Valery’s poetic thought he contacts with important issues of the poetry in this introduction.
